I painted this in early Spring of 2020, when the first daffodils were just coming into flower and there was still frost on the ground. I was thinking that I would put it into a Spring exhibition – then the grim news of the pandemic arrived, and all the exhibitions were called off.
I’m glad I painted it though: it catches that feeling of having got back into the warm, taken your woolly hat off and settled down with Tea and Cake, feeling well-exercised.
Painted in Windsor & Newton professional acrylic on A3 Daler Rowney multimedia artboard. Before mounting and framing, the size is 297 x 420 mm.
This painting is for sale without a frame and mount, since it’s easier to post that way, but I can supply it mounted and framed if you prefer (at additional cost).
